Please note that we utilize only professionally research-validated assessment instruments, with strong validity and reliability.

The value and purpose of feedback obtained from utilizing strength-based Psychological assessments is to facilitate the development of your uniquely individual attributes. They will assist you to better understand your own working style and those of colleagues, both inside and outside of your organization. You will ultimately be set on a course for increased self-awareness, greater effectiveness, increased capacity to work with change, and enhanced leadership capacity.

Among other things, assessments evaluate

  • leadership competency and character
  • learning and thinking style
  • how you deal with change
  • personality type
  • strengths and weaknesses
  • emotional intelligence
  • how  to optimize your performance
  • how you handle conflict

Assessments can provide insights into our unique ways of gaining energy, gathering or becoming aware of information, deciding or coming to a conclusion about that information, and dealing with the world around us. They can provide a way to help you become aware of your particular style (your strengths) and to better understand and appreciate the helpful ways that people differ from one another.  I have found these assessments to be particularly rich with information, applicable to self understanding and to relationships.

As a member of our Coaching program, you will receive interpretive reports applicable to

  • Communicating
  • Making Decisions
  • Managing Change
  • Managing Conflict
  • How the Parts of Your Personality Work Together

Assessment reports will provide information that can help you maximize the impact of your actions, identify options for increasing your life satisfaction, job satisfaction and productivity, and explore alternative ways to achieve your goals.  Reports provide an explanation of your results and then considers how your results can help you 1) Plan your personal & career development, 2) Increase your personal life and job satisfaction, 3) Improve your effectiveness on teams, at home and at work and 4) Identify the strengths and weaknesses of your personal leadership style.

Other assessments are intended to help you to better understand your emotional and social functioning.  Ideally, your coach or psychologist will go through the report with you, in an effort to maximize the benefits of the information provided. Integrating assessment-generated knowledge into our daily routines is where the real value lies, not in merely understanding what they say.

There can be some surprises and occasional anxiety associated with feedback, but most people experience the process as highly rewarding and enlightening.  With thought, areas of higher skill (see below) may be used in more situations or more frequently to make the most of them.  The identification of lower skill areas (again below) should be taken as an opportunity for enrichment.

1.  Self-Regard

2.  Emotional Self-Awareness

3.  Assertiveness

4.  Independence

5.  Self-Actualization

6.  Empathy

7.  Social Responsibility

8.  Interpersonal Relationship

9.  Stress Tolerance

10. Impulse Control

11. Reality Testing

12. Flexibility

13. Problem Solving

14. Optimism

15. Happiness

Because no two individuals have exactly the same expectations and desires, conflict is a natural part of our interactions with others. As Psychologists we may utilize assessments as a catalyst to open discussions on difficult issues and facilitate learning about how conflict-handling modes affect personal, group, and organizational dynamics.

Each of us is capable of using numerous conflict-handling modes. None of us can be characterized as having a single style of dealing with conflict. But certain people use some modes better than others and, therefore, tend to rely on those modes more heavily than others—whether because of temperament or practice.

Assessments can  facilitate team building, executive coaching, leadership development, career counseling and interpersonal conflict resolution. They can identify  your everyday interpersonal style (usual behavior), and provide you with  unique insights into underlying motivations and needs. Stress behaviors can also be identified.
