We need to be able to take this in, so that we can change and grow.

We are continuously creating and emanating emotional energy. Our individual thoughts and behaviors influence the energy's emotional quality. The words, actions and quality of our relationships reflect the energy that we emanate and that others feel and respond to. So, what we allow to go on inside our heads plus our actions, basically, produces our words and determines the quality of our relationships, maybe even the quality of our lives.
